		Woman, son killed in accident A 36-year-old woman named Zarina Ansari and her son, Hasan, died after a tractor hit their scooter near a crossroads on Monday. Zarina was riding the scooter and her son was riding pillion when the accident took place. They were taken to a nearby hospital, where they died during treatment. Zarina's husband, Imran Ansari, filed a complaint against an unknown tractor driver. AMTS to buy 300 buses in 2023-24 The Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has a budget for the next two years of $574,000,000. This will add 200 regular buses and 100 electric buses to their fleet. AMTS plans to run an average of 1109 buses per day. The opposition criticized the budget saying that while AMTS has a total debt of $38,700,000, they are planning to spend more on new buses instead of using the existing fleet properly. Man threatens serial blasts in Ahmedabad, held in UP A letter threatening bomb blasts on Republic Day in Ahmedabad was received by the city police commissioner's office on Wednesday. A city crime branch team has been roped in to investigate the case. Sources in Uttar Pradesh Police said the sender, identified as Om Prakash Paswan from Ballia, has been detained and questioned. The letter, allegedly sent by Paswan, reads "Kal 26 January ko Ahmedabad me tabahi hi tabahi hogi tomorrow, January 26, there will be destruction in Ahmedabad." The letter listed the areas where the blasts would occur, including at around 11 am on Republic Day. Paswan and his wife have mental illnesses, and the letter was written by them. Allahabad HC quashes proceedings against Congress MP in criminal case Imran Pratapgarhi and Ahmad Khan were charged with violating Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, which states that "disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant" is punishable by a jail sentence. The all-India high court ruled on Tuesday that the criminal proceedings against them should be quashed, because the police had violated the criminal procedure code in filing the complaint.
