In 2021, the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia supported almost 5,000 art and cultural projects in Switzerland and in 100 countries across the world. PERFORMING ARTS / OPEN CALL Apply to LAST-ING | Indent Lab 2022 What meaning might 'last' hold? Indent lab holds a space of introspection and imagination, of shared thinking. It is run as a four-day hybrid lab, offline in New Delhi and online from 9 - 12 June 2022. Applicants could be dancers, performers, researchers or practitioners/ artists with an interest in the body and the performative. Participation on all four days is mandatory. EVENTSMUSIC Schaffhauser Jazzfestival streamed online and at a venue in Delhi Since its foundation in 1990, the Schaffhauser Jazzfestival has been dedicated to creativity in the field of "jazz and improvised music". Featuring the finest of Swiss jazz, the festival will take place in Switzerland. All concerts will be livestreamed here. RESIDENCIES & RESEARCH TRIPSVISUAL ARTS Farah Mulla on research trip to Switzerland'Crosstalk' by Farah Mulla, 2019, Dimensions: variable, Medium: Sound installation, Supported by Serendipity Arts Foundation. Farah Mulla is a multimedia artist based in Goa. Her background in science overlaps with her art practice that explores the perception of sound and its effects on human neurology and subjectivity. Often investigating different media, she uses the human voice, field recordings and other modes of inquiries to explore aspects of our listening experience and the invisible agency of sound via multiple modes of perception. Barnali Bose is a film editor and designer from India. She has a filmmaking background, and studied editing from Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute. Soumya Sankar Bose is an Indian documentary photographer. In his practice he uses photography, archival material and texts to explore desire, identity and memory. Together they started a self-publishing initiative, RED Turtle Photobook, in 2020. INTERDISCIPLINARY Ravi Agarwal on research trip to SwitzerlandPhoto courtesy the artist Ravi Agarwal is an inter-disciplinary artist, environmental campaigner, writer and curator. His work bridges the divide between art and activism, to politicize the entangled questions of nature and its futures. Using photography, video, text and installation he poses questions about ecology and society, culture, urbanity and more. During his stay in Switzerland, Ravi proposes to examine these questions through artistic and pedagogical collaborations possible for sustainable futures. GALLERYFor forty years Peter Rinderknecht, actor, director and author, has been one of the important personalities in theatre for young audiences in Switzerland. As the director of his company “Theater for a Growing Audience” he takes his plays all over the world, creating a unique theatre world in which reality and fantasy merge. Rinderknecht was in Bangladesh in March 2022 where he performed the piece "Minor Matters" to young audiences. A story of departure, desires, hopes and disappointments, "Minor Matters" was presented to audiences at Alliance Francaise Dhaka, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, University of Dhaka, and Cox's Bazaar.
