Up to 400 jobs affected by Co-op changes Central England Co-op has announced plans to close three warehouses and a garage, saying workers will be offered other jobs within the business. The society said up to 400 jobs are affected at warehouses in Leicester and a garage on the outskirts of the city in Whetstone. Central England Co-op CEO Debbie Robinson said: "I know this is going to be a difficult time for some of our colleagues." Read the story here or scroll down for more news.

£23 million funding for Melton and Rutland Schemes in north Leicestershire and neighbouring Rutland have secured £23 million of Government Levelling Up cash. Some £12 million of support has been given for the county town of Melton – home of the pork pie. Rutland, meanwhile, gets several million for health care services and a digital visitor experience to view two of the area's heritage treasures – including the remains of a 4th century Roman villa and mosaic near Rutland Water.
