Polychain Capital raises $200M for fourth fundWeb3 investment firm Polychain Capital has raised $200 million in the "first close" of its fourth investment fund, Fortune reported on Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the matter. Fortune said that Polychain still plans to raise $400 million in total for the fund, which matches the targeted amount in an April filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for its Polychain Ventures IV (Parallel) LP fund. The firm also let go of three members of its around 15-member research team due to new investing priorities, according to the report. Polychain was founded in 2016 by early Coinbase employee Olaf Carlson-Wee. The firm has approximately $2.6 billion in assets under management, Fortune said, citing Pitchbook data. Tech SpecialTwitter teases new publishing tools for long-form articles Twitter is working on a feature that will let you publish articles on the platform, according to owner Elon Musk. The feature will “allow users to post very long, complex articles with mixed media,” Musk said in a reply to a user tweeting about the in-development tool, which is now called “Articles” instead of “Notes.” The feature will further expand the ways you can write on the platform, which is quickly moving beyond its microblogging roots. Twitter Blue subscribers can already post tweets with 25,000 characters, which is far above the 280-character limit imposed on non-Blue subscribers. Twitter first launched Notes in June 2022 as an experiment with a small group of writers in Canada, Ghana, the United Kingdom, and the United States. However, until now, the status of Notes was unknown as not much had been heard about the feature since Musk bought the social network for $44 billion. The Twitter owner didn’t share any other details about the company’s plans for Articles, including when people would gain access or when the feature would launch publicly. TikTok launches its music streaming service in Australia, Mexico and Singapore TikTok is rolling out its new subscription-only music streaming service in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore to a small group of test users. The expansion comes after the popular short-form video app launched TikTok Music in Indonesia and Brazil earlier this month. “We are inviting users in Australia, Mexico, and Singapore to participate in the TikTok Music closed beta test from today,” the company said in a statement. Participants will be offered a free three-month trial to test the service. TikTok Music is a completely separate app that participants will be able to download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. It does, however, connect to the main TikTok app, allowing users to listen, share, and download music that they discover through the social media platform. The music streaming app offers personalized song recommendations, real-time lyrics, collaborative playlists, and the ability to find songs via a lyrics search feature, as well. According to information listed on the regional websites that have already launched, a TikTok Music subscription will cost AUD11.99 ($8.16 USD) per month in Australia, Mex$115 ($6.86 USD) in Mexico, and S$9.90 ($7.48 USD) in Singapore. TikTok has yet to announce if and when its music app is also coming to the US, but it did file a trademark application for "TikTok Music" in the country back in May 2022.
