UDP Full Form in Hindi: Hello friends, welcome to another new one Hindi blog in which we are going to tell you What is UDP Protocol, how UDP Protocol works, what are the features of UDP Protocol, what are the uses of UDP Protocol, what is the difference between UDP and TCP Protocol and what are the advantages and disadvantages of UDP.
If you want to get all the above information about UDP, then read this article till the end. So far in our blog, we will give you many types of protocol As already mentioned, this article also belongs to the series of protocols. If you want to understand the protocol well, then you must have knowledge about all types of protocols.
So let's start without taking much of your time, know more about this article UDP protocolWhatIsIn Hindi.
What is UDP
UDP i.e. User Datagram Protocol is a communication protocol which is used Internet between two applications or devices data is made to transfer. This protocol was developed by David P Reed in 1980 as RFC768.
UDP is an unreliable and connectionless protocol, so it does not require a connection before data can be transferred. UDP is used as an alternative to TCP (Transmission Control Protocol).
The UDP protocol does not require that the data will reach the recipient in the same sequence in which the data is sent. In UDP, the data packet is called data-gram, there is no guarantee that all the data sent by the sender reaches the recipient, some data-gram may also be lost in the middle.
Data transmission speed is high in UDP. Hence it saves time as well as bandwidth. UDP is a part of the Internet Protocol Suite (IP) also known as UDP/IP.
What is the full form of UDP (UDP Full Form in Hindi)
The full form of UDP is User Datagram Protocol. In Hindi it is called "Datagram Protocol User".
UDP header is a simple header which is of 8 bytes. UDP ports are 16 bits long, so the range of these port numbers is kept from 0 to 65535, with port number 0 being reserved. Port numbers keep individual user requests separate.
There are 4 fields in UDP Header –
1 – Source Port Source port is a 2 Byte long field which is used to identify the port number of the source.
2 – Destination Port – This is also a 2 Byte long field which is used to identify the destination of the data packet.
3 – Length It is a 16 bit field which is the length of UDP including header and data.
4 – Checksum – This is a 2 Bytes long field that stores the Checksum Value generated by the sender before sending the data packet.
How UDP Works
UDP A Computer To receive datagrams from another computer IP address makes use of. UDP collects the data in a UDP packet and adds the packet information to its header.
This data consists of the Source and Destination ports on which to communicate, as well as the length of the packet and a checksum. After the UDP packet is encapsulated in an IP packet, it is sent to the destination.
However, unlike TCP, UDP does not guarantee that the data packets will reach the correct destination.
Features of UDP
Following are some of the salient features of UDP protocol –
UDP is a connectionless protocol, it does not require a connection to transfer data.
UDP is a fast protocol which is unable to transfer data very fast.
UDP is an unreliable protocol and does not provide any guarantee of data delivery.
UDP is used for transaction based protocols like DNSBOOTP etc. is used for.
In UDP, the data segment contains only the checksum.
UDP Application
Following are some of the major applications of UDP –
UDP can be used in applications that require lossless data transmission.
UDP protocol is used in applications like gaming, voice, video.
UDP can be used in multicasting applications.
UDP is used in real time applications.
Difference between UDP and TCP protocols
We have told you the major differences between UDP and TCP protocols in the table below –
UDP protocol
TCP protocol
The full name of UDP is User Datagram Protocol.
The full name of TCP is Transmission Control Protocol.
The UDP protocol is a connectionless protocol, in which a connection does not have to be established between the communicating devices.
The TCP protocol is a Connection Oriented Protocol. It requires establishing a connection between the communicating device.
The speed of UDP protocol is very fast.
TCP protocol is slower than UDP.
UDP is an unreliable protocol.
TCP is a global protocol.
The size of the header of UDP is 8 Byte.
The size of the TCP header is 20 bytes.
There is no order in which messages are delivered in UDP.
There is a sequence of message deliveries in TCP.
Data delivery is not guaranteed in UDP.
Data delivery is guaranteed in TCP.
UDP is used in DNS, RIP, BOOTP etc.
TCP access HTTPHTTPS, FTP, SMTP etc. happens.
(Difference between UDP and TCP protocols)
Advantages of UDP
Following are some of the major advantages of UDP protocol –
UDP protocol is very fast as compared to TCP.
UDP protocol is very simple and useful for communication.
There is no need to make a connection for data transmission in UDP.
chatting, online games Like real time applications use UDP protocol.
By UDP Broadcast And can do Multicast transmission.
UDP connection does not require much maintenance.
using UDP bandwidth can be reduced.
Disadvantage of UDP
Following are some of the disadvantages of UDP protocol –
UDP is an unreliable protocol
There is no such feature in UDP to detect that the data has been received.
UDP can detect the error but is unable to specify the error.
In a UDP connection, there is no guarantee that the data will arrive in the order in which it is sent.
UDP also does not give any guarantee of complete data delivery.
